Sharq Digital Privacy Notice. Last updated July 16, 2019

Thank you for visiting https://sharq.agency (the “Site”), which is owned and operated by Sharq, LLC (“SQ”). Your access to and use of this site is subject to this Privacy Notice (which is incorporated into our Terms of Use) as well as all applicable laws.

This Privacy Notice applies only to information collected through our Site. By using our Site, you are agreeing to the collection and use of information you provide to this Site as described in this Privacy Notice.

Information we collect

We collect two types of information through our site. “Personally identifiable information” is information that identifies you personally, either alone or in combination with other information available to us (including without limitation your name, address, email address, telephone number, or other personal information you may submit through our Site).

“Non-personally identifiable information” is information that alone does not identify you. Submission of personally identifiable information through our Site is purely optional, so you are not required to submit any such information to us if you do not wish to do so. For example, you may wish to provide personally identifiable information to SQ through our Site’s “Contact Us” form if you are interested in having us contact you regarding our branding and digital marketing services.

This information may include your name, address, email address, and other information you voluntarily provide to us. Our Site may also collect non-personally identifiable information sent to us automatically by your web browser. This information typically includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the identity of your Internet service provider, the name and version of your operating system, the name and version of your web browser, the “referring” website from which you entered this Site, the date and time of your visit and the pages you visit.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies and tracking

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. There is no third-party advertising featured on our Site, and accordingly no tracking by advertisers or for advertising purposes. However, in accordance with Missouri Law, if you have questions about our “do not track” policy, please send an email to hello@sharq.agency.

How we respond to do not track signals

Please note that your browser setting may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to websites and online service you visit. There is no consensus among industry participants as to what “Do Not Track” means in this context. Like many websites and online services, Forge does not alter its practices when it receives a “Do Not Track” signal from a visitor’s browser. How we use information

We may use any information collected on our Site: in order to contact you for the purpose it was submitted (for example, in order to answer an inquiry you submitted through our Contact Us form), for our marketing purposes, to improve our Site, for purposes related to the business of SQ, as otherwise set forth herein, or as we may disclose to you from time to time. If you submit your personal information through the Site, we will place you on our email list and in our database of potential clients or interested parties, and we may contact you in the future. You may opt-out of receiving communications from SQ at any time via a link in the email you receive, or by sending an email to hello@sharq.agency with the subject “Opt-Out.”

Any data sent automatically by your web browser may be used for our business and purposes. We may review our server logs – which contain visitors’ IP addresses – for security and fraud prevention purposes. We retain information collected through our Site only as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable business purposes.

Information sharing and disclosure

We reserve the right to share or otherwise disclose the personally identifiable information you provide through this Site: (i) to third parties who perform services on our behalf; (ii) to third parties with whom we have a business relationship, including data forensics providers, IT security providers, or other attorneys or consultants who may provide services to our clients; and (iii) carefully selected third parties for marketing activities or other purposes relevant to our business. In addition, we reserve the right to use and share any information collected through this Site as we deem necessary to investigate suspected illegal conduct or violations of our Site’s Terms of Use, to comply with legal process (including a court order or subpoena), to assist law enforcement agencies in an investigation, to protect the rights, property or safety of SQ, our users or others; to protect the vital interests of any individual, or if we believe in good faith it is required by law. Your personally identifiable information may also be transferred to another law firm or other entity that succeeds to all or part of our business. We may share analyses of our server logs, including details regarding website usage and general information about our audience, with current or potential business partners, but such disclosures will refer only to general, aggregate usage data from these analyses – never specific identifying information.

By using our site you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to the disclosure of your information collected through our Site as described in this Privacy Notice, and we will not be required to obtain your consent for any such disclosures.

How to change or delete your information

You can instruct us to make changes to your personal information, or to delete your personal information from our records, by sending an email to hello@sharq.agency with the subject “Change My Information.” We will use reasonable efforts to delete information we have stored in our databases and otherwise, however we cannot guarantee that all instances of all data collected will be permanently removed. In addition, we cannot be responsible for the modification or deletion of any information we have provided to third parties as described herein.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Security information

We take reasonable precautions to provide a level of security appropriate to the sensitivity of the personally identifiable information you provide through this Site. While we take reasonable measures to ensure the security of this information, we cannot guarantee the security of information provided over the internet or stored in our databases. Your transmissions are, therefore, at your own risk.

Changes to this privacy notice

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Notice, at any time and without prior notice (except with regard to material changes as required by law), by posting the revised version of this Privacy Notice on the Site.
